Paulson Clay Poker Chips
November 11, 2010 | admin | Comments 0
One of the original and best known clay casino poker chips, Paulson brand chips are still in use in many Vegas casinos and casinos around the world. Often chosen for their great feel and sound, these premium chips are customized for each casino. This customization is accomplished a number of ways which may include a custom mold or custom color combinations that seem to only be limited by the colors of a rainbow.
For today’s casinos, security is an obvious concern. From theft to counterfeiting, casinos have to constantly be on the look out for compromised chips. Security features can be built into the chips via several means. Examples of security features are a material or pigment manufactured into the chip that can only be seen with a special light or laser, special printing in the rim of the chip, and even electronic identification devices can be placed in each poker chip.
Many poker players often wondered why such a quality chip could not be purchased for the home market. While some special purchases may have been allowed at considerable cost (since no casino chip could be duplicated new molds are likely required), these high quality chips were basically not available to the home market until just a few years ago. At that time, the new company formed by the merging of The Bud Jones Company and Paulson Gaming Corporation, Gaming Partners International began to allow purchases for public distribution as long as minimum order quantities were met. Generally speaking, these minimum order quantities make the purchase cost prohibitive to an individual. There were some group buys that the informed individual could participate in and several lines were created for purchase and resale by corporations.

About the Author:
As a result of all of this, there are now several different designs of Paulson clay poker chips on the market and available to the average poker player. Now if you want to have a top notch casino quality chip for your home game, there are no less than 4 designs available and if you look hard you can find more than four designs. Some include denominations, such as the original home market chip, the original Top hat and Cane with multi colored edge spots. Two other denominated Paulson chip lines are the National Poker Series chips and the World chips. These two designs do not include a dollar sign, like their predecessor. Also the Paulson World Top hat and Cane poker chips step it up a notch to offer a uniquely shaped inlay for each denomination. For Paulson chips with no denominations, you will need to look for one of the Pharaoh’s Club designs. While there was a denominated version of the Pharaoh’s Club chips, two non-denominated versions were made and at least one of these can still be found on the market.
